4 Insert the Kanji SIMM into the Kanji SIMM connector.

Hold the SIMM at a 45° angle facing the bottom of the controller

board. Slide the SIMM into the Kanji SIMM connector, and then

push gently on it to seat it securely in the connector.

5 Snap the SIMM into place.

When seated, the SIMM stands upright, firmly in place. If you

cannot snap the SIMM into place, do not force it. Reposition it,

making sure that the bottom of the SIMM is seated completely in

the connector.

6 Insert the controller board in the printer.

Use the instructions in chapter 2, “Memory and System Soft-

ware,” the “Reinstalling the Controller Board” section.
